Support us

Could you be a part of our SAMS family? Read on to learn how you can support us, either by making a donation or by volunteering.

At SAMS, we believe that money should not be a barrier between children and music. That’s why we work hard to ensure that all the opportunities we provide for our young people are completely free of charge to parents.

SAMS is funded entirely by donations, and we are grateful for every contribution, however great or small. As SAMS continues to grow, we are taking on more staff and resources, but this comes with additional costs; as of January 2026, it costs us £500 a week to run all our activities, lessons and outreach classes.

When we first started out, we had just 8 children coming to SAMS. Word quickly spread, and we had 30 by the end of our first term. That number keeps on growing, which is why we need your help.

To make a donation:

Our financial infrastructure is still under construction. While we wait for our own independent bank account to be up and running, we are grateful to St Andrew’s Church for keeping our funds under a restricted line in their accounts. This means that we can accept donations (and GiftAid) through the church; any donation made to the church with the reference ‘SAMS’ will be 100% reserved for SAMS activities.

We hope to have embeded payment software on our website in the near future, but in the meantime, if you would like to make a donation, please contact us.

To become a volunteer:

We are extremely grateful for the help our of volunteers, without whom we would not be able to function. If you have a working knowledge of Music Theory, and/or are a strong singer, perhaps you could think about volunteering with us on Tuesday afternoons? Or if you have other skills you can offer - publicity, marketing, graphic design, social media, etc - we’d be glad for some occasional help!

We’ll be delighted to hear from any potential volunteers, so if you would like to get involved, please send us a message, and we’ll write straight back to you. We’re always grateful for an extra pair of hands, and there’s nothing more rewarding than working with a whole room full of singing children!

Other ways to help:

We know that not everybody is in a position to offer money or time. But there are other ways to support our fantastic work here at SAMS. If you have any creative ideas to support our fundraising, networking and publicity, we’d love to hear them! For example, you might be able to connect us with a local magazine or publication who could run some advertising for us, or perhaps you could introduce us to a potential corporate sponsor, or maybe you have some excellent advice on how we can promote our fundraising campaign. Whatever it might be, please feel free to get in touch at any time.
